WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME?

I pondered over how I want to write this. But there is nothing that struck me. It’s been a month and perhaps the best way to say it, is by keeping it simple and sweet.

Simple questions with simple answers. It all started with a suggestion from one of my blog followers. Since then, it got me thinking.

SYMBOLS IN TEMPLES – FOREVER ENGAGING

This is the famous Temple of the Tooth in Kandy, Sri Lanka. If you go to Sri Lanka, this Buddhist relic is a must visit. From the outside, the temple looks like this. Each inch of the temple has a story hidden in it and there is no dearth in terms of symbology. Whether it the engraved marbles with four animals or the paintings depicting the journey of the tooth, every nook and corner has a bigger picture connected with it. Take a look when you visit!

INTRICATE WONDERS BROUGHT TO LIFE BY SKILLED FINGERS

Have you ever wondered how this monument was made? No electricity. Only scaffolding. Working until late in the night. With simple tools which are now unknown. With nothing but an oil lamp to aid them and make their art a reality. It is the toil of dedicated, skilled and talented craftspersons and labourers which has given birth to such a beautiful piece of architecture. Needless to say, those arches, pinhole windows and frames are an epitome of classic Rajasthani architecture. Intricacy defines it. – Junargarh Fort, Bikaner, Rajasthan.
